Hi, I’m Luna Miller — a mom of two, a believer in real food, and a lifelong learner on the journey to better gut health.
I live in Portland, Oregon, a city known for its love of nature, organic living, and slow mornings with good coffee. My husband designs outdoor gear, our daughter Ella (9) loves ballet and baking, our son Leo (6) is obsessed with dinosaurs and soccer, and our rescue golden retriever Buddy keeps us all moving.
My interest in gut health began three years ago, when Leo started having frequent stomach issues — bloating, diarrhea after cold foods, and general discomfort that affected his school life. After two pediatric visits, the doctor mentioned “gut microbiome imbalance”, but gave little guidance beyond “watch his diet.”
That moment changed everything. I realized how little I knew about how food affects our gut. Coming from a typical American “fast-food” upbringing, my family meals used to revolve around burgers, pasta, and frozen dinners. So I began researching obsessively — saving “kid-friendly gut-healthy recipes” on Pinterest, joining a community nutrition class, and reading books like “Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body’s Most Underrated Organ.”
Slowly, I turned from an anxious mom into what my friends now call the “Gut Care Mom.”
Here on my site, I share what I’ve learned — and what I’ve failed at — so you don’t have to start from zero. You’ll find:
- Down-to-earth guides that turn science into simple daily habits (think: “Your gut is like a garden — it thrives on diversity”).
- Family-friendly recipes that kids actually eat, like my sugar-free Banana Oat Muffins with Chia Seeds.
- Real stories of trial and error — like the time I turned my first homemade yogurt into “tangy tofu.”
- Practical swaps for American families: a quinoa-chicken salad instead of hotdogs at the soccer field, or a fiber-boosted pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving.
I’m not a doctor or nutritionist, just a mom who’s tested over 100 gut-healthy meals for her kids and seen real change. Everything here is shared in that spirit — from one parent to another, backed by curiosity, learning, and love.
My favorite hashtags? #MomGutWarrior and #RealFoodForTots.
My motto?
“I’m not a pro, but I’ve tried 100+ gut-healthy meals for my kids — and I’m here to share the ones that actually work!”
